Vedansh | Co-Founder, The Cloud Canvas | SSCBS, Batch of 2022

Q. Tell us something about yourself

Ans: Hi, I am Vedansh a final-year student pursuing a BMS degree at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. I love traveling, and am also into Logo designing. I have also represented India at Business Valuation, Financial Modeling and Strategy Consulting Case Competitions.

Q. You're the co-founder of The Cloud Canvas. Tell us something about it, how did you team up with this idea?

Ans: I first met Aditya who is now a member of the founding team. We had the same interest in logo designing and he is currently pursuing his higher studies in the same. He laid the foundation of the first community of students where they could learn using the curriculum, and competition fundamentals of design. The problem statement is that those who are interested in design have limited options.

Q. Any particular reason for choosing DU for BMS over other universities?

Ans: Delhi University is a big name. Even the professors who are teaching us are from the university itself. They have even inspired so.e famous people that we know and learn from. In particular, I chose Shaheed Sukhdev College because they offer BMS which is a very prevalent course.

Q. You have been the Chief Operating Officer of Krpto, an initial coin offering (ICO) initiative. How has the journey been up till now?

Ans. It has been a very adventurous journey as I have been in the education space for a long year. So I was with my friend who is the founder of EMS, the largest trading company in India right now, and that is how it all started.

Q. What do you find different in Shaheed Sukhdev College?

Ans. Shaheed Sukhdev College it's management department has its name in the university because of the amazing quality of teachers it has. The environment that the teachers create inside the classroom is phenomenal. Apart from that the college has a great curriculum and environment. In the first-year students are exposed to a lot of other things as well. Apart from performing academically, I have received 7 internships over 2 years. During the course, I pursued live projects, got involved in two different startups, and got great placement opportunities. The environment that is created by the teachers is incomparable.

Q. What are your career plans and how are they lined up?

Ans. During my three years in DU, I scored a lot in management. I have done seven different internships ranging from finance, management consulting streets, etc. Over 3 years of my life I have also had the personal goal for improving my soft skills. As the head of the student council, I was involved in teaching three underprivileged students with the Jamia Millia Islamia Sikhshit Bharat programme. After that, I got involved in teaching people how to trade as well.

Q. As you secured 12th rank in JMCC. How does it feel to be in the top 12?

Ans. JMCC was a development consultant place competition. It was based on a microfinance company that was based out of the Philippines. Our team was responsible for developing the strategy of a financially distressed microfinance firm. So we designed its loan interest over two weeks. I got appreciation from Shaheed Sukhdev also. We developed the case and we were the only ones whose solution was recognized by board members. We were the only team from India who got selected. Due to covid however the competition was shifted to the online mode, however I was a great experience.

Q. You are engaged in so many things. How did you manage your time?

Ans. Covid had a big role to play here. Initially, I paid attention only to the academic part but later covid helped me manage the other work that was asked of me. I kept my academics two or three days a week and for the rest, I pursued my extra curriculars.

Q. What would you advise your peers who want to achieve big?

Ans. Get a vision of what exactly you want to do in life, and what you are passionate about. Also, surrounding yourself with good mentors is important.

Q. You have received many awards. Can you tell us how you felt? Who was your inspiration?

Ans. Firstly, I would give all my credits to my family as they are my pillar of strength. Also, my professors who have guided me, friends who have supported me, and a good team of course all helped me achieve what I did.
