Anushree Jain| Founder and CEO, HOUSE OF WORDS| Maitreyi College, Batch 2021

1-Tell us about yourself?

I am Anushree Jain, currently pursuing my degree from Maitreyi College. I’m majoring in English, with Economics as my minor. I always loved writing. My interest aroused when I was in elementary school.

2-How did your interest in writing evolve into a life choice?

Initially, I didn’t look at writing as a profession in which I can find a career. It was always a hobby. But then, before joining Delhi University, I was majoring in a subject that wasn’t feeding my interests at all. During a contest I received great reviews for the poetry that I composed and was advised by the professor, to pursue my talent seriously.

3-How is th\e field working out for you?

I gave my professor’s recommendation a lot of thought and decided to pursue a career in writing. Since then, I have come a long way. I have published 2 books, Belle Musings and Destined to be Together. Currently, I’m working on the sequel of Destined to be Together. I’m also working on another project, which I hope will come out soon.

4-Which book genre do you like the most and why?

I love reading fiction and I do not prefer reading non-fictional work. The genre that fascinates me the most is romance. My first two novels, Lust Stories and I too had a love story by Ravinder Singh, both touched my heart. I think that’s the root of where my obsession for the romantic genre came. It is my favourite genre because people can personally connect to these stories.

5-What are your future plans?

I want people to recognize me through my work and writings and I want to become a best-selling author. To achieve my goals, I founded my own start-up, HOUSE OF WORDS (www.houseofword.com). Entrepreneurship is the way, I believe, for a vision like mine to take flight. I’m also looking forward to becoming a successful entrepreneur in the near future.

6-Tell us more about your Start-up, HOUSE OF WORDS?

Even during harsh conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were successful in providing our best services to the people who approached us for events. For instance, there was a 4 year old kid who wanted to celebrate her birthday in the unicorn theme. While her parents found themselves in a tough position, we assured them that it is possible to have a small in-house celebration, following all the covid protocols. It was a success, and what touched our hearts the most were the tears in the eyes of their daughter.

We, at HOUSE OF WORDS, are passionate about what we do. We are an ambitious team of creatives, party planners and trendy stylists. It is our mission to make your special day memorable. We’re not the pioneers of this industry but our USP consists of “customer-centric diversification”. We provide pan India facilities and aim towards exploring different fields and keeping our clients happy.

From open mics to large scale affairs, we ensure that every detail is flawlessly executed. Out of the event management market, we acquire a 10% share with almost 200 plus customers. To date, we’ve managed to organise around 200 events in various cities.
