Question 1- Kindly brief us about yourself.
Answer- My name is Ananya and I am in 2nd year pursuing my bachelors from Shaheed Sukhdev College of business studies. I'm a coordinator of Bridges of enterprise which is a consulting organisation based in Cambridge. This is something that interested me a lot and I have worked a lot for this society. Apart from that I am in the college debating society. I enjoyed debating a lot as an activity and I debated frequently in the first year. I have some of my accolades in debating. But this is the activity that fascinates me a lot. You get to know new people, you get to put your thoughts across, you get to speak what you want to. Apart from that, as a student of college for business studies, we are supposed to do internships. And I have done two internships, one with Mankind Pharma and the other with Niti Aayog. I am also a National level shooter. I have qualified for National games twice. I ran a startup more like an online store when I was in 11th and 12th grade and I generated revenue of 2 lakhs. This was my own initiative from the idea to the output, but due to college I had to put it at an end but I enjoyed it a lot.
Question 2-How did you start your shooting journey?
Answer - I always had an interest in sports. When I was in 11th grade, my dad wanted me to inculcate some kind of meditative activity to calm myself down. He knew a lot of people who were in this sport so I tried it out. For the first year I used to practice for three hours starting at 5:00 a.m., attend school and study. But eventually I started enjoying it. We have various people around us who would cheer you on in tournaments. There were highs and lows, but you have people who really care about you. It's hard to get a sports quota and I didn't apply for that. I wasn't surprised that I got enough marks to get into this college. Now it's difficult to manage it with college but whenever I get time I try to go to the tournaments.
Question 3- Can you share your experience competing in the UP state shooting championship and how it contributed to your growth.
Answer - Shooting is a sport that requires a lot of practice and diligence. One has to face the consequences for bad posture and heavy breathing as well. So to perform well, one has to be in a good state of mind and needs a lot of courage. The recent competition I competed in, I already knew that I was going to underperform for the same reasons. Also there was no one with me at that time when I was in Delhi but somehow I qualified for the next round, so it was really fun and I also managed to practise. I go home on weekends, so there was a lot of nostalgia and appreciation from myself to be able to perform better.
Question 4- What kind of challenges did you face during the 64th National shooting championship and tell us about your learnings?
Answer - It hadn't been long when I did my first national. I had a lot of expectations and if I would have missed it, I would have wasted an entire year. So I got a gun for myself after that. My parents were very proud of me and that was the moment I realised that shooting is not just sports for me, it is more than that. It is something that makes me stand out from others. There were so many people who taught me so much and I was able to meet them and learn from them because of this particular sport.
Question 5 - How has the Bizz Bate case competition resurgence PR and marketing competition contributed to your aura or personality?
Answer - These case competitions keep on happening and they are mostly generic in nature. I did these competitions during the first month of my bachelors. Two of my best friends were my teammates and I learned a lot about how to make presentations, how to work under pressure and developing thoughts, creative ideas, analytical thinking and you finally get to apply the things that you study in your curriculum. So all these factors combine together and you get to learn things, particularly to solve the particular case study. and I got hands-on experience.
Question 6- Who are your role models?
Answer - For this I always had the same answer that my role model is my dad. He has been an inspiration to me throughout my life. I try to make him proud because of the amount of expectation he has from me. the amount of stuff he does for me and for my growth. He never denied anything I asked for and the confidence he has in me. The fact that he is doing extremely good in his life, he is a district judge and has worked hard throughout his life. Being so good at work and he is humble and kind to everyone, that I also want to inculcate these values in my life. So he is the person I look up to.
Question 7 -How do you balance shooting competition along with your studies?
Answer - After coming to college, prioritising shooting was difficult and you can't travel with your guns in the metro. But I have to juggle a lot of competitions, debates, and society work. And if the work overlaps then you need to prioritise and it's a lot about putting in extra effort.
Question 8- What are your future plans?
Answer - I'll try to get placement and get some work experience and then apply for an MBA. I've been exploring different domains so it's like wherever life takes me. I'm working as hard as I can and exploring as many things as I can.
Question 9- Can you share a moment that you are really proud of?
Answer - I think that would be the business that I was in because as I said earlier that it was something I did on my own. Something that was my sweat, my hard work. I launched a product that I created and it was really successful. That was something I made happen and I felt real.
Question 10- Anything else you would like to tell about yourself.
Answer- I have a lot of plans to work for the education sector. I am passionate about how you study and how your college goes. And to disseminate knowledge about NEP. I want education to be inclusive and progressive. I believe that education is rigid and stagnant now and I have a couple of ideas for making it more flexible. So I hope I will be able to do that.
Question 11- Any advice to those who want to pursue shooting or other competitions.
Answer - It's discouraging sometimes when a lot of things are thrown at you. But if you push through the hard days and look back it's always great to see all your achievements. They see the people who were there with you happy and make them feel proud. It's always worth it.
