Aditi Chauhan | Founder of Hackersvilla cybersecurity | Maitreyi College | Batch of 2022 |

Ques1: Tell us anything about yourself, such as your hobbies or daily routine.

Ans - I recently relocated to Pune to expand the cybersecurity community I am currently a part of. If I had to describe my interests, I would say that I turned them into a freelance career. I work as a freelance graphic designer and yoga instructor. Thus, I either meditate, paint on shirts, or engage in graphic design anytime I have free time.

Ques2- Why did you choose to pursue your undergraduate studies at Delhi University? Was there any specific reason for it?

Ans - My primary aim for pursuing higher studies at a college was to get exposure. I feel that at Delhi University there is ample time to go for other activities as well and this was also proven true after getting my degree here. I have rarely seen a jam-packed timetable from morning to evening. Even in my course which was Economics honours the timetable was as simple as it could have been despite it being a demanding degree. I had enough free time after my classes and even during the lockdown.

Ques3- You are also the founder of a company. How did you come up with the idea and how did you go further about it?

Ans - In 2021, we officially registered our business. The co-founder also holds a degree from Delhi University's SGBT Khalsa. We connected at a conference, and I learned that we both had ideas pertaining to the cybersecurity sector. I have been into cyber cells etc. since my school days. After discussing it for a few months, we finally launched it with a two-person starting team. Both B2B and B2C services are offered by us. B2C stands for business to consumer, and we provide basic and advanced courses. Our user service also includes Hindi language, and the small batch size assures that you will receive the proper attention from the teacher. We currently provide high-quality cybersecurity courses for only 20,000 rupees, which is further discounted to 15,000 rupees for students. After having their paperwork verified, a student who cannot afford the course might still enrol for Rs 5000. The best feature of ours is the personal connection as both the student and mentor are young. Also, a company's website is frequently not secure, as was the case most recently with Lenskart. So, as part of the B2B programme, our staff also instructs the trainers. Apart from providing security, we also train them how to protect their websites.

Ques4- Do you hire only mentors or teachers or is it open for interns as well?

Ans - A few positions were opened for unpaid internships. Only those team members who have previously received training from our mentors are included. We currently have a team of three mentors, two of whom Sanjay Sir (co-founder) personally trained. We intend to grow the team by adding interns using the "learn and earn" model. After completing our three-month course, you can work as a mentor with us for a few months as part of an internship. During this timeframe, the first month serves as a test period and if you match our requirements then you will get paid for every session subsequently.

Ques5- You won the ‘Youth Icon of the Year award. Can you share your experience with it?

Ans - I've been doing yoga since fifth grade. I applied for the Qualifying Round, which featured two categories: "All-Rounder" and "Youth Icon." Two persons, including me, were eligible for the "Youth Icon", thanks to my great accolades. The "Youth Icon" award for our school used to be highly reminiscent of the idea of the "100 Most Influential People."

Ques6 - What drove your interest towards becoming a Yoga Instructor?

Ans - From class fifth till 10th, I participated in nationals and other competitions at all levels a lot. As we all know, 11th and 12th are the years when students are tense and tend to overthink about the future a lot. I realized that I was pursuing yoga for flexibility but what about its other aspects? For me, meditation and yoga became a medium to vent all my negative feelings. Our country is located in a region with a high prevalence of arthritis. To reach as many patients of arthritis as possible, I recently finished a Yoga course that specializes in arthritis and also specially curated a Yoga course to include everything from therapies to acupressure.

Ques7- Can you walk us through your journey as a graphic designer?

Ans - I consider myself a creative soul, but art has never been my cup of tea. I did not enjoy taking on art projects, but I did enjoy drawing on t-shirts. I've even sold a few hand-painted t-shirts from my closet. This quest began when the covid struck. I started doing internships, but I also learned Canva and Photoshop from scratch. Later I moved on to designing visuals for the 'Hackersvilla' Instagram handle, and we even passed the 6000 follower mark, with more growth on the way. Unfortunately, the account was disabled.

This community has resulted in a significant boost in my graphic design skills. Later I started getting a few freelance gigs. I am currently working with Invite Labs as a graphic designer.

Ques8- How was your college life? Did you get to experience that thrill despite the pandemic?

Ans -. I feel like college life gives you the most opportunities to grow but it is better if you are part of 1 or 2 societies only. I was a member of E-cell as well as the Economics Council. I used to contribute to the Debating competitions as well but with time you start realizing where your heart lies. So that one offline year acted as a ‘filter’. In the end, I started to leave things and ended up quitting E-cell as well. I shifted my focus towards personal growth and participated in inter-college events. Aside from that, I was a member of NCC, which consumed most of my time. I participated in Republic Day celebrations and led Hackersvilla Cyber Security seminars in conjunction with the NCC. To me, NCC provided the most exposure and the best relationships. It taught me numerous skills, such as time management, and provided me with some of my fondest college memories. Hence, I believe that an important technique from my end would be to patiently sort through the things in your life and discard those that do not line with your goals. For instance, I have a to-do list for the day, so that I can complete significant things when I am most productive.

Ques 9- Any incident or learning you would want to share with us?

I'd like to share my experience of being competitive since school, but gradually realizing that it's not worth it. Every person has a unique journey and walks a unique route. When I study all of the Laws of Karma in Yoga, I realize that we never know what another person has gone through to get to where they are now! So just concentrate on yourself.
